A Pecsa (Pecu\u00e1ria Sustent\u00e1vel da Amaz\u00f4nia), com sede em Alta Floresta (MT), recebeu na semana passada a primeira certifica\u00e7\u00e3o de Empresa B do setor de pecu\u00e1ria na Am\u00e9rica Latina. O selo \u00e9 dado a empresas que geram comprovadamente benef\u00edcios sociais e ambientais a partir dos seus neg\u00f3cios.
\nA certifica\u00e7\u00e3o implica em cumprir com um alto padr\u00e3o de gest\u00e3o e transpar\u00eancia. Para ser uma \u201cEmpresa B\u201d \u00e9 preciso passar por um processo de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o com 165 crit\u00e9rios de Governan\u00e7a, Trabalho, Comunidade e Meio Ambiente, e uma verifica\u00e7\u00e3o pela equipe do B Lab, respons\u00e1vel pelo movimento global de Empresas B, sediada na Calif\u00f3rnia. \u201cAcreditamos que empresas devem buscar serem as melhores para o mundo, e esse \u00e9 o prop\u00f3sito maior da Pecsa\u201d, disse o diretor de governan\u00e7a da empresa, Laurent Micol.
\nPara o facilitador de certifica\u00e7\u00e3o do Sistema B, que administra o movimento na Am\u00e9rica Latina, Pedro Augusto, a ind\u00fastria da pecu\u00e1ria \u00e9 de grande import\u00e2ncia para a sociedade, j\u00e1 que \u00e9 parte da base de alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o de grande parte da popula\u00e7\u00e3o mundial, ao mesmo tempo que \u00e9, em sua maioria, altamente insustent\u00e1vel.
